Overview
Rottweilers are powerful, confident guardians who are calm and loving with their family. Consistent training and socialisation are key.
Temperament
Rottweilers are typically described as confident, loyal, calm, protective. Individual personalities vary, and early socialisation and positive training shape how any dog behaves as an adult.
Size
A large breed: adults usually weigh 35–60 kg and stand 56–69 cm at the shoulder.
Exercise needs
Most healthy adults do well with about 60–90 minutes of activity a day. For an estimate tailored to your dog's age and weight, try the activity calculator.
Grooming
Grooming needs are rated 1/5. A weekly brush and occasional bath are usually enough.
